Hi, I’m David J. Martin, photographer in New York City — welcome to my website.

Photographing “everyday people” who are in need of headshots has become my specialty. Trust me, I know the camera can be intimidating. I can’t say how many times I’ve heard “I’m not very photogenic” from new clients. I always say, “you just hadn’t found the right photographer” …until now. I’ll deliver professional, approachable headshots that spotlight your strengths and downplay any flaws or insecurities you may have about your appearance.

With more than 15 years of professional photography experience, I will help brand your business or to give you the perfect profile pic. Get the right-swipes on your dating profiles that you deserve. At the end of the day, what I care most about is helping you look and feel your best.

I have trained at the School of Visual Arts and NYU. It’s important for me to keep current with my shooting style and skills in order to continue to do the best job I can. My combined state-of-the-art lighting and digital equipment can master results no iPhone can. If you’re still not thrilled with something in your shot, I’m an expert in using PhotoShop. I can have you lose five pounds, make you taller, loose that double chin, and whiten your teeth with a click. The art of digital enhancement is to do it realistically and subtly. None of my clients receive over-edited, inauthentic photos -- you’ll look the best version of you.

My projects have ranged from expansive company-wide shoots of 150-member teams to customized individual headshots - perfect for a LinkedIn profile or personal website. No matter what it is, I bring experience and attention to detail to everything I do.

What sets me apart from other photographers is my creative background and work experience. Having worked as an international flight attendant and in hotel hospitality, gave me an ease in collaborating with people from all walks of life. My time as a visual merchandiser creating store displays at Neiman Marcus in Beverly Hills honed my sharp sense of style. I always knew my lighting and color schemes would come in handy someday! As a former clothing stylist, I’ll help you assemble the best looks for your shoot.
